Nachbesprechung Gesamtprüfung 15.02.2011

bzgl. the highway

wenn jemand im sommer solch überhebliche, besserwisserische und zugleich dumme aussagen macht, muss man sich nicht wundern, wenn er auch gegenwind zu spüren bekommt...
ich glaube mit so jmd will keiner nachhilfestunden verbringen, der ist besser aufgehoben, wenn er in seinem stillen kämmerlein sitzt und keinen nervt....

well, do not be melodramatic. Just sit down with the book and my slides and learn micro. or get a lucky T-shirt :)
but for the love of God, PLEASE do not try to come again to my exam unprepared. if you come to the exam without satisfactory knowledge of the subject, you will fail. it is as simple as that.

how long will it take you to check the exams?

I only ask because i'm studying IWW and we have to
hand in our exam results until the 8th of march...

ich versteh nicht, wie man eine 2 im ps haben kann, aber mit der schlussklausur nicht dementsprechend zurecht kommt...

thats pretty disappointing to feel unprepared for the total-exam, although having a 2 in the proseminar.... i dont understand this level-difference, between the proseminar and the vorlesung-total-exam. its obvious that some of us ARE and notonly feel overstrained... you're exam is maybe funny, but not as "doable" as the proseminar...

well, it will take at least 2 weeks. depends on how much students write. i think you should be able to learn your grade by March 8th when i post them in e-campus. but i am not sure if the official grade through Prüfungsreferat comes so quick...

first i'll wait for the grades, i'm not perfect, i see little chances to get more than a 2 or 3 in this exam (i made some little mistakes here and there and they sum up pretty quickly). if i find that the results are good enough to really assist you somewhere somehow i'll be in touch

by the way: the book your assistant recommended Hal Varian "Microeconomics" helped a lot, in my oppinion it's somewhere between pindyck and mas colell regarding the degree of mathematics (it includes also evidences and other useful stuff). the chapters are shorter and more down to the point and what's most important in my oppinion is that the practical examples are more fitted to a younger generation (including short case studies on ebay auction behaviour). you might recommend it in following courses (i had the english version, since the people on amazon said the german version is worse)
