Visiting or Exchange Student: What’s the difference?
Exchange students are those who are attending a university and are applying to the program through their home university.
Visiting students are those whose home university is not a partner of the university.
genauer:
Visiting Students
If your home university or college does not have an exchange agreement, you are invited to apply to the university as a visiting student. In this case you must pay directly to the university all expenses related to your study abroad semester.
Exchange Students
If your home university or college has an exchange agreement, you are invited to apply to the university as an exchange student. In this case your tuition fee at this university will (depending on the agreement) most likely be waived. You continue to pay tuition to your home university, but spend your semester abroad.
